How We Began

S & S P Publishing began back in 2012 when I retired.  Having been made redundant and taken early retirement, I wanted to do something to retain my administrative skills.  Husband Steve who retired some years earlier, had begun writing one or two short stories and was keen to get them published.  When we found that it was possible to self-publish, it seemed the obvious answer.

Steve is the brains behind the plot-lines of his stories, but my admin experience meant that I was able to type up his hand-written copy and begin the task of editing, creating a front cover and preparing for publishing as an eBook.  And so S & S P Publishing was born, first publishing through Smashwords (now Draft2Digital) and later also for Amazon Kindle.

Steve has since written a number of short stories plus a non-fiction music series, MisHits of the 60’s. 

 

Subsequently friends asked if I could help with publishing their works.  As a result we have published a wide variety of genres, both fiction and non-fiction: a detective series, light romance, a music series, poetry, history, sport to name but a few.  Even a number of children's stories.

More recently it has become possible to self-publish in paperback, and we now have a number of titles available.

This website, Pennykid Books, is our latest endeavour and has been put together primarily to advertise our paperbacks and eBooks.  I hope you enjoy perusing our pages.
